Kering snaps up component producer

Following an agreement made in March 2023, Kering Eyewear has completed the acquisition of French eyewear component manufacturer UNT (Usinage & Nouvelles Technologies).

Founded in 1989 in Morbier, within the renowned eyewear manufacturing region of Jura, UNT manufactures high-precision metal and mechanical components for the entire luxury eyewear sector.

Kering said UNT was an emblem of high quality due to its integrated engineering department and its state-of-the-art 3,000sqm facility.

The purchase means Kering Eyewear now owns three manufacturing facilities, the former Manufacture Cartier Lunettes factory on the outskirts of Paris and Trenti Industria Occhiali in Italy.
