Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh has been named as the face of this year’s Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition.
She said: ‘I’ve been wearing glasses for six years. I think I let my eyes get a little bit worse than I should have before I did start wearing them but now I have fully embraced them – it’s a new look for me.’
Patients were encouraged to enter the annual competition, being held across four age group categories, either online or through their local practice. The overall winner at the awards in October will receive £10,000, plus a week’s holiday for two in the Bahamas and a ‘wardrobe of spectacles’, Specsavers added.
