A new lab manager at Specsavers in Birkenhead’s Pyramids Shopping Centre has become one of a select band of professionals in the UK to obtain the Level 4 Diploma for Optical Technicians from the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers.
Phil McEvoy, pictured with director Ken Roberts, said gaining the accolade took two years of hard study, much of which had to be done at home after working a full day in the lab.
The multiple has rewarded McEvoy’s hard work with a promotion to a lab manager role where he is responsible for a team of three working on jobs for two stores.
