​Enquiries for laser eye procedures increase by a fifth

Enquiries for laser eye procedures in both UK clinics and abroad have increased by 17% in the past year, according to clinic comparison site WhatClinic.com.

Since 2015, there has been an 88% increase in enquiries into LASIK treatment.

Medical director of Centre for Sight London Sheraz Daya said: ‘The high adoption of the LASIK procedures is driven by the changing demographics - significantly among the young generation between the age group of 18 to 35 years. Due to peer pressure and high awareness of self-improving techniques available with cosmetic surgeries, there has been significant growth in demand for LASIK laser vision correction.’
