Rodenstock has released a new polarised lens designed to reduce ambient light reaching the eyes and cut down blinding glare.
Available in 85 per cent brown, grey and green tint options, Rodenstock said the lenses improved colour and depth perception, along with clarity and contrast. It added that market research had found 92 per cent of patients preferred them to regular sunglass lenses.
Debbie Bathgate, lens product manager, said: 'Everyday glare can be annoying and uncomfortable on the eyes, but when the angle of the reflection is such that it becomes blinding, serious accidents can occur for example when driving. Rodenstock polarised lenses provide comfort and increased safety as well as relaxed and improved vision. The 100 per cent UV protection also helps protect the eyes.'
