The College of Optometrists has published its third report on pre-reg trainees’ performance on the Scheme for Registrations.
The report was based on data from a single cohort of 620 pre-reg trainees who enrolled between June 1, 2015 and May 31, 2016.
Some important data that emerged from the report included: a positive correlation between higher undergraduate performance and performance on the scheme; a slight improvement for first time pass rates for the Final Assessment OSCE; a gender split of 67% to 33%, in favour of females; and large multiples provided the vast majority, 88%, of placements, which is up 3% on last year.
