A SolaOne Ego progressive lens wearer has been crowned winner of the gruelling 10,000 km Dakar Rally 2006.
Gilles Picard, 51, a presbyope and part of the Mitsubishi team with co-pilot Luc Alphand, wears the customised progressive lens SolaOne Ego, which was launched in the UK last year.
Picard, who undertook months of preparation for the race in Africa said: 'It was a wonderful race, but a real struggle. We had to fight every day in the automobile, despite fatigue.'
