Lens exchange surgery from Optimax has improved 26-year-old Joseph Lewis’ vision so dramatically that he has now passed his driving test having previously had vision levels of -20.00 and -24.00 dioptres.
‘I was not far off being registered blind and only able to work because my employer has been so good in supporting me with software that magnifies what is on the computer screen. I have always wanted to be able to drive but it seemed impossible, especially once cataracts developed,’ said Lewis.
Optimax surgeon Javad Moayedi removed the cataracts, replacing his natural lenses with artificial AMO Tecnis toric lenses. Lewis, who passed his driving test just seven weeks after the surgery, said he was now seeing the world in high definition.
