LOC produces eye care guide

Buckinghamshire Local Optical Committee has developed an eye health brochure with its local primary care trust which is available free to all healthcare promoters in the county.

Claire Ranger of Hammond & Dummer, chair of the Milton Keynes sub-committee of the Bucks LOC, said the aim was to raise awareness of eye health among the general public.

The brochure covers nutrition and diet, body weight, smoking, UV protection, protective eyewear and the need for regular eye tests. The role of eye care professionals is also explained and web links are included.
