Locomotive charity provides free eye tests to 1,000 people in rural India

Locum optometrist Gautam Passi and a team of UK optometrists and dispensing opticians worked with charity Locomotive to provide free eye tests to 1,000 people in rural India.
During October 2-13, the team of eye care professionals set up eye camps across many villages in Punjab and educated those living there about how to clean and look after their eyes, as well as giving out prescription glasses when needed.
The team said: ‘The impact on these people’s lives was amazing, for many people this was their first opportunity to have a sight test. It was beyond rewarding to give these people the spectacles they deserved to improve their quality of life, by giving them sight that they thought they lost.’
