Locsu has appointed a new ophthalmology director to help improve communication with hospital eye departments.
Christiane Shrimpton, who has led major reforms as ophthalmology lead for the Better Care Together (BCT) initiative, will set out to reform the way in which opticians and hospitals work together.
Announcing the appointment Richard Whittington, Locsu chief operating officer, said: ‘The reform of NHS delivery and the introduction of population-level, integrated care is a huge opportunity to reduce pressures on the hospital eye services by moving minor eye conditions and routine monitoring of stable conditions into primary care.’
