Locsu has announced the appointment of a new non-executive chairman

A Locsu board member has announced the appointment of a new non-executive chairman to the support unit.

Alan Tinger is to step down in the autumn after 10 years in the role and will be replaced with Mike Fegan, who will take up the post after the NOC in November.

Henrietta Alderman, chair of board appointment process, said: ‘Mike has a wealth of experience to offer Locsu, having worked for FTSE 100 companies, SMEs, start-ups, not-for-profit and charitable organisations in a variety of senior roles. He will be able to contribute particularly in the areas of finance and governance.’

David Hewlett, chief executive of FODO, said: ‘The sector owes Alan an enormous debt of gratitude for leading Locsu through so many difficulties and challenges – not least major weaknesses in NHS commissioning, three chief operating officers and several changes of directors – over the past 10 years. Locsu has grown into a fair and equitable model for enabling optical practice and businesses of all sizes to deliver enhanced services with minimal bureaucracy.’
