LOCSU has accepted nine candidates to receive funding for its Leadership Skills for Optical Professionals course.
It is a 20-credit postgraduate module and part of WOPEC’s MSc programme at Cardiff University.
Alan Tinger, chairman of LOCSU, said: ‘Developing leadership skills within LOCs is vital in the midst of the seismic changes affecting the NHS landscape, particularly given the role of leaders in helping the NHS to make best use of resources and improve patient outcomes through the commissioning of eye health community services.’
