An online map of community eye care services in England has been launched by the Local Optical Committee Support Unit (LOCSU) to give a snapshot of where enhanced services have been commissioned.
The map, called the Atlas of Optical Variation, is intended to help policymakers pinpoint where new services could be set up.
Katrina Venerus, director of operations and commissioning at LOCSU, said: 'This map will be of great value to LOCs when making the case for additional pathways with local health commissioners. For the first time, they will be able to demonstrate the success of other - often neighbouring areas - in the implementation of specific pathways.'
