Long working times putting eye health under strain

A Specsavers survey of 1,000 office workers in the UK revealed that modern working practices are putting the eye health of employees under huge strain.

Giles Edmonds, clinical services director at Specsavers, pictured, said: ‘Eye health is fundamental to employee wellbeing, yet it seems not enough is being done to prioritise it, which could impact wellbeing and productivity. People should be mindful of the effects of working long hours at a stretch.’

The multiple found that 40% of workers admitted to working in front of screens for more than two hours without a break and 84% worked longer than 20 minutes without a break.
