Monkeyglasses announces its SS20 collection

Sustainability in frame design is paramount to Danish frame company Monkeyglasses, which has announced its SS20 collection. The collection is focused on eliciting a sense of calm simplicity by utilising updated styles from the roaring 20s, quality craftmanship and recycled materials. This is the first collection to be released following the brand’s 10th anniversary and the opening of its flagship Copenhagen store.

Thilde45 is a hexagonal wire-rimmed frame constructed from black recycled stainless steel. The thin rims are complemented by equally thin temples, which are encased by acetate at the tips for comfort. Gold-coloured double rims on the upper-half of the frames create a distinctive silhouette with minimal detailing, remaining on brand with Monkeyglasses’ minimalist design ethic.

Tango17 is another recycled stainless steel offering, this time offered in sea-blue with silver details. Rounded rims are closely traced by silver wire double rims at their outside corners while the temple tips are encased in a semi-transparent grey acetate.
