TV presenter Lorraine Kelly has recorded a radio charity appeal to raise funds for international development organisation Sightsavers.
The appeal aired three times earlier this week and highlighted the work carried out by the charity.
On the appeal, Kelly said: ‘I’ve seen for myself how Sightsavers can prevent blindness when I visited Kenya in 2011.
Trachoma is a terrible disease, but it can be treated with a straightforward operation that costs just £8. The look of joy on a patient’s face when they are free of pain and they can see clearly again is remarkable.’
