A free online course covering AMD has been launched by the Macular Society.
‘The emotional impact of a diagnosis of AMD’ is the second course to be made available via the charity’s web-based training programme. It aims to provide a comprehensive guide to central vision loss and how to manage it.
The course is divided into four sections and has been developed in collaboration with bespoke learning specialist Perceptive. It is CPD and CET accredited.
Macular Society lead for eye care professionals Jessica Murray, said: ‘The course covers the importance of careful communication, the impact of a diagnosis on mental health, and information and advice that should be provided to people with AMD.’
