Organisers of German trade fair Opti '09 have announced that major exhibitors Allison, De Rigo and Marchon will attend the event along with nearly 30 more firms who were not present in 2008.
As reported in Optician (News, January 18), last year the German optical exhibition attracted around 18,000 visitors, down from 35,000 the previous year.
Other new names on the list of exhibitors for Opti '09 that did not take part in 2008 include manufactures such as Ed Hardy, Kilsgaard, Jai Kudo, Marcus Marienfeld, Mormali and Theo.
According to organisers, the line-up at the show, which takes place from January 23-25 2009 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, is set to attract more visitors from international markets. 'With the return of the three industry giants in 2009, we are taking an important step forward in further broadening the international scope of the fair,' said Dieter Dohr, managing director of GHM Gesellschaft fur Handwerksmessen.
