Latest research in the US has found two-thirds of optical patients in the country purchase their spectacles at the same location as they had their eyes tested.
A total of 66 per cent of patients bought glasses from the first store they found, according to the Jobson Optical Research 2013 Eyewear and Eye Care Consumer Patterns Insight Survey.
The findings, from a sample of 6,775 patients in the US, showed the vast majority of 82 per cent bought no more than one pair of spectacles per shop, with just over half committing to frames before lenses. Forty per cent of US consumers believed the purchase decisions of frames and lenses were of equal importance.
