Mark Allen Group and FMO to take Optrafair into next decade

UK trade exhibition to be managed by MAG and FMO until 2020

UK trade exhibition Optrafair will be managed by the Mark Allen Group (MAG) until 2020 following an agreement with show owners, the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians (FMO).

MAG was already contracted to run the event in 2017, but FMO chief executive Bryony Pawinska, said the organisation wanted to build on a successful relationship that would allow the sector’s own trade show to go from strength to strength in the years ahead.

Commenting on the agreement, FMO vice chairman Andy Yorke said: ‘It was not a difficult decision to make in the light of the really excellent pre-show sales that MAG has already secured for Optrafair 2017. As an exhibitor as well as a director of the FMO, I see this commitment as a real advantage for the whole sector.'

MAG chief executive Ben Allen added: ‘We are proud to have our association with the FMO consolidated for the next four years, which will enable us to work with the organisation on its plans for 2018 and 2019, leading to a sector-wide event to celebrate the turn of the decade in 2020.'
