Maui Jim affected by Hawaii wildfires in Lahaina

Wildfires in Lahaina on the Hawaiian island of Maui have affected Maui Jim’s store and office as the death toll increased to 55 with hundreds still missing.

A spokesperson from Maui Jim told Optician: ‘Our hearts are broken by the devastation of our beloved Lahaina and those who tragically lost their lives. While our Lahaina store and office were unfortunately affected, we can confirm our employees are safe and we are committed to supporting them through this difficult time.’

The wildfires started on August 8 and were fuelled by Hurricane Dora, and firefighters were still attempting to contain further spread.
