Japanese contact lens maker Menicon has acquired 100 per cent ownership of Rose K, a major contact lens brand for the treatment of keratoconus.

Japanese contact lens maker Menicon has acquired 100 per cent ownership of Rose K, a major contact lens brand for the treatment of keratoconus.

The company will allocate substantial resources to grow the Rose K business worldwide, which will continue to be overseen by Rose K's founders, Dr Paul Rose and Ian Jennings.

Dr Hiderani Tanaka, president of Menicon, commented: 'Over the years we have seen the growth of Rose K to become the number one brand for keratoconus. The quality of its products and the business model fits very well into our company culture.'

We see this new acquisition as an excellent opportunity to expand our presence in the global GP contact lens market.'
