Mental health issues in the optical industry

Three quarters of respondents in a poll run by Louis Stone on Instagram revealed that they have had mental health issues.

Louis Stone conducted the poll on World Mental Health and World Sight Day on October 10 to find out how many of its followers in the optical industry have suffered from mental health issues regardless of how severe they were and 75% of the over 100 people who answered said they had.

The company said: ‘This goes to show that a number of people in the industry have gone through or are going through mental health difficulties but should know that they are not alone in this. Mind.org provides many helpline numbers for anyone that needs support.’
