CliC Vision has a patented connection mechanism built into the bridge and attaches around the neck using a colourful band.

The CliC design allows the eye pieces to be separated in the middle and hang around the neck when not needed.

When the wearer wants to use the readers they are then on hand to be 'clicked' together and placed on the face in the traditional manner.

Richard Hardy, sales and marketing director at Mid-Optic, said the firm was initially introducing the CliC concept through CliC Vision ready readers which are available in five plus powers and 10 colour options.

The CliC design uses a rigid band fixed to the ends of the side pieces which allow the two halves of the specs to be suspended around the neck.

The band can be adjusted on the sidepiece allowing the wearer to easily alter the length. Hardy said the frames could also be glazed by popping out the reading lenses and fitting prescription lenses.

Along with information about the CliC Vision range, Mid-Optic is also sending out a brochure featuring CliC Goggles, CliC Sport and CliC Vision in more colour options.

These are also available from Mid-Optic which is distributing the product under licence from the US.

Hardy said consumers were being alerted to CliC through advertising on a variety of lifestyle satellite television stations and this was creating a 'buzz' about the product.

The launch of CliC Vision includes promotional offers and point of sale material.
