Mido 2020 to celebrate 50th anniversary

The Italian trade show will celebrate half a century of shows in 2020

Italian trade show Mido will be a ‘golden edition’ when it returns to Milan next month (February 29 – March 2) to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The event has grown from 95 exhibitors at its first show in 1970 to over 1,320 exhibitors across seven halls in 2019, with almost 60,000 visitors from 159 countries in attendance.

Giovanni Vitaloni, president of Mido, said: ‘Thanks to everyone’s hard work, in 50 years Mido has gone from being primarily a business to business event to a year-round hub of attraction that involves stakeholders, opinion leaders, buyers, institutions, celebrities, media and Italian and international influencers.

‘Mido is the eyewear industry event no one wants to miss. Always on the leading edge of trends, it carefully curates the show’s installations and aesthetics without losing sight of the state-of-the-art tools that make it even more attractive to the media, exhibitors and stakeholders.’
