Exhibitor numbers at Mido 2010 are likely to remain at the same levels as 2009, possibly increasing slightly according to a Mido spokesperson.

Unable to provide exact figures before Optician went to press, the spokesperson said exhibitor numbers were looking similar to 2009, possibly slightly higher, but that some of the event's larger exhibitors had ordered smaller stands than usual.

Tom Davies, chief executive officer of TD Tom Davies, told Optician: 'We are in the Trend hall, and it looks like it's 30 per cent bigger than last year. Also, it is completely full. Last year, they had six spare stands.'

Explaining that his company's sales had grown 20 per cent each month since September, apart from during the snow in January, Davies added: 'Judging by Munich and what I've seen of the Mido plans, we believe there is a rebound happening in the optical industry in general.'
