Millmead Optical Group has revealed the ‘Heavy-Light’ sculpture, which is on display at the Open Eye Gallery, on Liverpool’s famous Royal Albert Docks.
Made out of discarded demos and lens waste from its Liverpool factory, by sustainability artist Yair Neuman, the sculpture aimed to provoke thought around recycling waste in the optical industry.
Neuman said: ‘The central message of this project is of huge significance; If we can turn discarded waste products into something beautiful and begin those important discussions about reducing industrial waste, then there is hope for us all to become part of the solution.’
