MiSight effectiveness affirmed in new paper

A study found that 90% of myopic children’s eyes responded well

A peer review paper has affirmed that 90% of myopic children’s eyes responded to CooperVision’s MiSight 1 day contact lenses over the six year study.

The review found younger and faster progressing children received the maximum benefit of the contact lens and evidence indicated a sustained slowing of eye growth, with no loss of effectiveness over time.

Published in the American Academy of Optometry’s Optometry and Vision Science, the paper supported CooperVision’s findings that the lens slowed the rate of progression by half at all observed ages.

Paul Chamberlain, director of research programmes at CooperVision, said: ‘Myopia is a disease that progresses over many years, so demonstrating sustained efficacy is critical. Eye care professionals can prescribe MiSight 1 day with confidence knowing that the majority of children respond to treatment which lasts.’
