Moorfields appoints new chief executive

​Dr Martin Kuper has been appointed after David Probert stepped down

Dr Martin Kuper has been appointed as the new chief executive of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust after David Probert announced he would step down.

Kuper joined Moorfields from London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust where he held the position of deputy chief executive for transformation and chief medical officer.

Tessa Green, chair of Moorfields Eye Hospital, said: ‘Martin has a passion for clinical pathway and digital transformation focused around the interest of the patient and clear ideas around developing workforce and inclusion.

‘He has shown great resilience, creativity and leadership in his hospital’s response to the Covid crisis, both internally and supporting the broader sector response. I look forward to working with Martin to help Moorfields as we continue to strive for excellence.’
