Moorfields Eye Hospital has held a one-day art exhibition to lighten the mood in patient waiting areas at its City Road facility.

Art was provided by staff, patients and friends of Moorfields, many of whom had eye conditions themselves.

The exhibition, which also included a still life drawing workshop, was organised by art enthusiast Dr Mariya Moosajee.

Tactile art, which is felt rather than viewed, was also on display for the event on November 9. Dr Moosajee spent a year securing 60 pieces for the day, by finding out which patients were interested in art and making a request to auxiliary staff via the Moorfields intranet.
