Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has launched a new support service to assist patients who need to come to terms with sight-threatening disease, treatments and certification for visual impairment.
The team is made up of two nurse counsellors, one full-time and one part-time, four eye clinic liaison officers and the Certificate of Visual Impairment team.
The service has been funded by donations from a number of organisations, including the Marie-Louise Von Motesiczky Foundation which was arranged through Moorfields Eye Charity. Moorfields patients will be able to access the team by calling 020 7566 2385.
