Moorfields opens Stratford clinic

Moorfields Eye Hospital opened a hub at Stratford Broadway to serve eye care patients in east and northeast London.

It is the hospital’s second largest standalone site and will provide around 70,000 appointments per year, which has increased the capacity and reduced outpatient and surgery waiting lists.

Dr Martin Kuper, chief executive at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: ‘We will be able to offer local people more convenient outpatient appointments, new services and save them time on diagnostic testing.’

Eye care will no longer be provided at its current Stratford or Mile End clinics and transferred to the new site, which will deliver glaucoma, medical retina and cataracts services.
