FODO is consulting on guidance for providers and wider multi-disciplinary workers taking part in refractive surgery, according to its CEO David Hewlett.
His comments were in response to the Royal College of Opthalmologists’ latest guidance on refractive surgery standards for surgeons expected to be implemented on June 1.
Hewlett added: ‘Multi-disciplinary working is the way of the future and we are looking to fill this current gap in support for providers and other professions engaged in surgery.’
FODO is also consulting on patient protection measures which it hopes will be supported by all providers and regulators.
