University of Manchester head of optometry Professor Phil Morgan, pictured right, has received the Max Schapero Memorial Lecture Award from the American Academy of Optometry (AAO).
The AAO said the award was given to a clinician, researcher, or scholar who has made a significant contribution to the cornea and contact lens field by virtue of publications, lectures, or research efforts.
‘I’m thrilled and honoured to receive this year’s Max Schapero Award and to deliver the award lecture during annual conference,’ said professor Morgan.
‘The Academy is such an important institution for global optometry and I will be attending the conference for the 26th time this October because it is a key hub for research and education. Looking at the list of previous awardees is very humbling, and I will be proud to fly the flag for UK Optometry at the conference.’
