MP calls on Wimbledon constituents to look after their eyes

South-west London MP Stephen Hammond paid a visit to Boots Opticians in Wimbledon, where he highlighted the importance of regular eye tests

MPSouth-west London MP Stephen Hammond paid a visit to Boots Opticians in Wimbledon, where he highlighted the importance of regular eye tests.

Hammond (pictured centre) urged all patients to visit an optician as regularly as they should visit the dentist.

Manager at the Boots Opticians practice, Keval Subit (right), said: ‘It was great to meet Stephen to talk about the additional eye care services that can be delivered in practices like this, and the importance of sight tests.

‘An eye test is more than just a check to see if you need glasses, because signs of various eye conditions can be picked up, which means they can be treated earlier. The test can also pick up other health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure.’
