MP opens Cardiff Optical Express clinic

Cardiff Central MP Jo Stevens (pictured above centre) officially opened a new Optical Express eye clinic in Cardiff on February 23, bringing the latest eye care technology to the city in a £3m investment.

Complementary vision correction surgery consultations plus laser eye surgery, lens replacement and private cataract treatment will be offered as part of efforts to reduce NHS eye care waiting times.

‘This is a very impressive facility right in the heart of the city centre, making it easily accessible to people right across South Wales. The increased capacity it creates for treatment will make an important contribution to reducing waiting times for ophthalmic procedures and many of my constituents in Cardiff Central will benefit,’ said Stevens.

Optical Express CEO and founder, David Moulsdale added: ‘We are delighted to open our new treatment clinic in Cardiff. By opening our latest clinic here, we’re working towards our goal to improve the quality and reach of ophthalmology and primary eye care across the UK.

‘We are keen to work in partnership with NHS Wales, to reduce the backlog of those thousands of patients waiting to receive ophthalmic care.’
