Last week's Opti-Munich got the optical exhibition calendar off to a flying start, with the enlarged show boosting visitor numbers by 5 per cent and the German industry in bullish mood.
Show organisers said the atmosphere at the show matched the increased attendance with a greater number of exhibitors and floor space. A straw poll conducted at the event among visitors showed 48.2 per cent assessing the economic situation as good to very good, that figure rose to 71.3 per cent for exhibitors.
The show attracted a greater number of overseas visitors, 21 per cent compared with 16 per cent last year. Visitor numbers from the UK experienced one of the greatest increases.
