Glasses Direct Founder Jamie Murray Wells has confirmed recent reports that the internet spectacle retailer is seeking further funding to accelerate its growth but has said a City float is not on the cards.
Under the headline 'I'm ready to enter City says spec King', the Western Daily Press reported that Murray Wells was seeking a stock market flotation and £10m to expand his business and increase the size of his workforce from 30 to 160. But in a modest move Murray Wells has played down the report.
'I think the Western Daily Press has got a little bit excited. The figures they are talking about are nothing of the order of what we are looking at,' he told Optician.
