Mykita squares up to the 1980s

Frames

MYKITA

German manufacturer, Mykita, has released a new collection of women's ophthalmic frames. Oversized square shapes are the prominent aspect of the design of the frames, which Mykita said were a 'playful nod to the 1980s "secretary style".'

Pictured are the Shana (bottom) and Lidia frames. The Shana acetate frame is right on-trend. The oversize shape and frosted 'pink sherbet' colour scheme were incredibly popular at the recent Silmo show and will be prevalent in forthcoming seasons. Other colours available are black, Tobago and topaz.

The stainless steel Lidia frame has the traditional shape of the 1980s, but with a minimalist modern-day approach to frame construction, hinge design and the graduated colour scheme on the temples. Four colours are available: brown, blackberry, purple red and violet (pictured).
