Optometrists R Woodfall launched an art competition to mark the opening of a new practice in East Dulwich.
Its modern construction was designed by architects Mittelman Associates and replaced the site of an old chemist.
'But why did we launch an art prize?' asked R Woodfall owner John Fried (pictured).
'Two reasons: as opticians, we strive to help people see the world around them more clearly so that they can enjoy things like art but also because East Dulwich has become known as an arts community. The area has certainly changed a lot since I was a lad here.'
Crystal Palace artist Pat Keay (also pictured) won first prize in the competition for her vision of Dulwich College on a summer's day, taking home a cheque for £250.
