New Federation of Manufacturing Opticians (FMO) chief executive Kevin Gutsell has outlined a five-year strategy for the organisation, which included increased membership interaction, more education for the general public on good vision correction and Optrafair.
Gutsell, a former ABDO vice president who has 31 years of optical sector experience in training and education, sales and marketing, lens product development and retail, said he would use his network of contacts to encourage more ‘vital interaction’ among FMO members and prospective members. Regional meetings were one of the ways that this interaction would be maintained and were said to be an essential part of the FMO’s ethos.
