Martyn Kemp Opticians has flagged up 'revolutionary products' set to hit the market that claim to reduce the rate of myopia in young people who spend a disproportionate time indoors.
The company, which has grown to 10 practices in the Sheffield and Rotherham area, said the lenses concerned were undergoing large-scale trials in Asia. It has advised parents and grandparents of myopic children and young myopes less than 25 years of age to register for the spectacle and contact lens products ahead of their market release.
'When the revolutionary products are available Martyn Kemp Opticians will contact all these people to see whether the lenses would be suitable for them, their children or grandchildren,' a statement added.
