Austrian manufacturer Silhouette has detailed the latest version of its SPX+ material used in its eyewear collections.

The polymer composite material was said to offer wearers extra lightness alongside increased durability and elasticity. Modern injection moulding was also said to make SPX+ twice as strong as acetate and allow lighter designs. In addition, no plasticisers are used in the construction, adding further hypoallergenic benefits.

Rupert Spindelbalker, head of the research and development at Silhouette, said: 'Lightness, feel, precise detail, flexibility and strength are all attributes we can add and adjust as required at each point in the creation.'
