Revolution grows
Ambitious optician brand Optical Revolution has merged its Norwich branch with local company Julian Gunn Contact Lenses. Founded by former deputy chairman of electrical retailer Tempo, Michael Kraftman, Optical Revolution has high hopes of becoming a major opticians chain and currently has another store in Colchester.

California ruling
Pearle Vision violated California law prohibiting retailers from having financial control over optometrists. The company has a two-pronged structure in the US in which it operates stores to sell spectacles while providing eye examinations through its Pearle VisionCare healthcare plan. However, California’s Supreme Court said the company has violated consumer law requiring a separation of retail and optometry services, Bloomberg News (June 13) reported.
