Data from 90 organisations, including limited optometry patient information from NHS England, was accessed during a cyber-attack in March, Capita has revealed.
Capita initially said the incident was limited to parts of its network and that there was no evidence of customer, supplier or colleague data having been compromised. However, the outsourcer admitted last month that 0.1% of its data estate had been exfiltrated.
NHS England said it reported the breach to the Information Commissioner’s Office after Capita informed it that a document relating to two patients was accessed by hackers.
