Voters set to decide the Scottish independence referendum have been focusing on healthcare and the NHS this week.
With the outcome hanging in the balance this week papers from a meeting of health board bosses were passed to the BBC revealing how health budgets were spilling over in the country, which provides all patients with a free eye examination every two years.
It was reported that the documents suggested a £400-£450m funding gap over the next two years, but the Scottish government has insisted it will continue to protect budgets. The documents, from a meeting last month, were reportedly also sent to The Herald newspaper by a senior NHS whistleblower.
