NHS launches Easy Eye Care service

A new NHS eye examination for people who are autistic or have learning disabilities has been launched in South East London.

The Easy Eye Care service, commissioned by the South East London Integrated Care Board, was launched on September 18.

The service is available across the London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark - reaching 20% of the capital.

Associate director Lucy Butterworth, the commissioner responsible for Primary Eye Care Services in South East London, said the service will give young people access to uninterrupted eye care.

‘I am delighted that the Easy Eye Care Pathway is operating across our region. It offers an eye examination which is individualised in a local community optical practice.’
