NHS optical voucher values rise by 2.7 per cent on average

The Department of Health has released the new NHS voucher values which will be effective from April 1.

NHS optical voucher values are set to increase by an average of 2.7 per cent, announced Public Health Minister Dawn Primarolo on March 12.

The increase, due to take effect from April 1, is nominally above the current inflation rate of 2.2 per cent*.Among the changes was an increase of 90p for frames with single vision lenses - of a spherical power of not more than 6 dioptres with a cylindrical power of not more than 2 dioptres - to £35.50.
