The latest edging system by Nidek is LEX, described by the company as a high-standard system designed to keep up with evolving lens technology and frame styles.
It added that LEX can handle the challenge of highly curved sports frames and super-hydrophobic coatings.
When used with highly curved lenses, the LEX 1000 processes the front and back bevel independently and can create a customised bevel to suit the most challenging eyewear.
Newly designed optical systems have resulted in the Nidek ICE-1000 Blocker, where lenses with weak powers can be measured accurately and progressives can be detected automatically. Nidek added that the lens clamp secured the lens automatically, ensuring the blocking of super-hydrophobic lenses without risk of axis shift.
